Mary Jane Veloso, a 30 year old Filipino mother, sentenced to die by firing squad in Indonesia Tuesday and about to be taken to the execution site, was granted a "last minute" reprieve.
As the hours of her imminent death came near, an international clamor to spare her life was escalating, through official channels, with online petitions, candlelight vigils and protest actions that were growing louder.
