New York- The Philippine Consulate General in New York opened its doors to the public on a weekend last 8 February 2020 for the 1st Consulate Saturday of the year.

As part of its mission to make services more accessible and convenient for applicants, the Consulate is open one Saturday of each quarter of the year to serve kababayans who cannot go to the Consulate during weekdays to process their documents. The other Consulate Saturdays for 2020 will be on 9 May, 8 August, and 14 November.

The Consulate rendered 78 services for the day, including 47 passports and 14 RA 9225 applications.

In addition to Consulate Saturdays, the Consulate conducts outreach missions to different cities outside of New York City to bring services to kababayans living and working in those areas.
