Opinion: On My Watch By Manuel Caballero

ON MY WATCH

By MANUEL L. CABALLERO

This week, I will revert to my original style of writing when I started this column in 1989. I used to crack jokes which, according to my good friend and reader and schoolmate, Atty. Reuben Seguritan, were witty and meaty. Let's see below.

***

In a serious statement today, PH Vice Pres. Sara Duterte (yes, she is still VP) denied having said that she wanted to kill or to have killed Pres. Bong Bong Marcos, his wife and cousin Martin Romualdez.

Well, either the VP was sleep talking in her video which was played on TV or she has forgotten what she said a couple of months ago. I am also already forgetful.

I remember having proposed to somebody last night, I just can't recall what her answer was. A nice lady in our group said, "i remember having answered NO to somebody last night,  I just can"t remember who he was!

Maybe, VP Sara can't just recall what she said. Her lawyers have plenty of work to do.

It was reported on a radio station in New York that a popular grocery store has limited the sale of eggs to only 12 per customer. Why?

Because there are limited number of eggs nowadays due to bird epidemic in  Northeast USA. The report clarified that there is "dwindling number of birds."

Which really comes first, the birds or the eggs? My 6-yr-old apo (grandson) says eggs. So, why the shortage? Maybe, Dr. Barbara O'Neill has the answer.

I notice that the minds of Pres. Trump and his "accomplish" friend Ilon Musk virtually run along parallel lines. Same lines of thinking.

Im reminded of what a Filipino lawyer candidate said about two persons who think the same way on a  particular subject  at the same time, at same place. He said,  "Rest assured one of the two is not thinking ".

 I don't think I agree.
